Viennese Café: The Man of Letters (1911) by Moriz Jung
A weary writer slumps in a patterned Viennese café, lost somewhere between genius and exhaustion. Jung’s humorous take on café culture captures the eccentric, sleepless world of early 20th-century literary life.
Moriz Jung (1885–1915) was a Czech-born Austrian illustrator and graphic designer, one of the brightest young talents of the Wiener Werkstätte in Vienna.
In a short life cut off by World War I, he created bold, witty posters and prints that still feel startlingly modern.
Each one is like a little story caught mid-scene, full of wit, tenderness and quiet drama on your wall.
