Ahalya Art Print by Raja Ravi Varma | Indian Wall Art

Ahalya (c.1898) by Raja Ravi Varma

Ahalya leans against a tree, a basket of flowers hanging from her hand. Her white sari and red border stand out against the garden.

Known from the Ramayana, Ahalya is more often remembered through the story of Gautama's curse and Rama's arrival. Here, in a Ravi Varma Press image derived from his painting, she appears before that drama: a woman caught in thought.

For a home that makes room for Indian mythology, Ahalya offers a quiet garden scene to return to each day. Choose this art print for living room wall decor or as a Diwali gift for a reader of the epics, with a frame that complements their space.

About Raja Ravi Varma:

Raja Ravi Varma (1848–1906) brought European oil-painting techniques to Indian portraits and stories from the epics. His press, established in 1894, carried these images into homes through affordable colour prints.
