See, Jack, he said, his manner wild and delirious (1922) by W.T. Benda
This illustration was created by Benda for The Nightmare Room- a short story written by Arthur Conan Doyle.
A tense moment unfolds between two men and a woman caught in silence. Benda’s strong contrasts and theatrical poses make the scene feel like a still from an early noir film.
