Radha Art Print by Raja Ravi Varma | Framed Indian Art

Radha (1895) by Raja Ravi Varma

India, 1895. Radha waits for Krishna while her companion watches her closely. Even the company of a friend cannot pull her attention back.

In this Ravi Varma Press composition, longing lives in the seated figures and the space between them. The familiar devotional story becomes an intimate scene of waiting for someone who has yet to arrive.

Radha brings a devotional story into everyday home decor through the intimacy of a waiting figure. A framed print makes a meaningful Diwali gift for someone drawn to Krishna's stories, or a warm focal point for a living room.

About Raja Ravi Varma:

Raja Ravi Varma (1848–1906) brought European oil-painting techniques to Indian portraits and stories from the epics. His press, established in 1894, carried these images into homes through affordable colour prints.
